The Summer Law Clerk Program at Henson Efron offers a 12-week immersive experience, providing law students with a meaningful introduction to the practice of law at our firm.
Our goal is to equip summer clerks with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the early stages of their legal careers. Clerks actively engage in substantive work and gain exposure to a variety of practice areas through:
· Research and Writing: Conducting in-depth research and completing assignments that reflect the work of a full-time associate.
· Hands-On Experience: Observing trials, depositions, hearings, negotiations, and closings when possible.
· Collaboration: Working closely with attorneys and staff across multiple disciplines to develop practical insights.
· Networking: Building connections within the firm and the broader legal community.
By the end of the program, clerks leave with valuable experience, a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations of a law firm, and greater confidence in navigating their future legal careers.
Henson Efron recruits for this program through summer On-Campus Interview (OCI) programs at the University of Minnesota, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and St. Thomas University School of Law. Students from other schools are welcome to apply by submitting their resume, cover letter, and transcripts to Sarah Ptacek, Human Resources Manager, during May and June for opportunities in the following year.
