With more than 50 years of experience in family law, I’ve had the privilege of guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging and transformative moments. This depth of experience gives me the clarity, wisdom, and skills to provide solutions that few can match.

I have dedicated my career to shaping family law in Minnesota, setting precedent through impactful cases at the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. My contributions to the profession include becoming the first family law attorney in Minnesota inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers—a distinction awarded to less than one percent of attorneys nationwide. I have also been recognized as a Minnesota Icon by Minnesota Lawyer for my lasting impact on the legal system and community.

For decades, I led the family law group at Henson Efron, growing it from inception into a team of eight attorneys and four paralegals known for managing the most complex and high-stakes cases. I am immensely proud of the collaborative, skilled, and compassionate team I helped build. Although I have transitioned leadership of the group, I continue to mentor associates and junior shareholders, ensuring the team’s legacy of excellence endures.

Throughout my career, I have advised clients on complex family law matters, including high-net-worth divorces, trust and estate planning, and tax-related concerns. I have also represented entrepreneurs and businesses in commercial disputes and provided alternative dispute resolution services as a mediator and consensual special master.

As I step back from full-time practice, I remain committed to making a difference. Whether mentoring, serving my church, or volunteering with non-profit organizations, I am dedicated to giving back to the community that has given me so much. I am spending more time with my family, at the lake, and traveling, all while remaining a resource for the firm I have proudly called home for my entire career.
